Tawny Owl Feathers Sgraffito Tankard

Hand-thrown with stoneware clay, painted with terracotta slip, carved in the sgraffito method and dipped in a shino glaze. I wiped away the glaze to reveal the darker colour of the high fired terracotta, leaving the feathers highlighted in white.
I've always been fascinated by feathers, and the Tawny Owls plumage is up there with the most beautiful, so why not honour them with a tankard?
